Lebanese cuisine is a kaleidoscope of flavours, textures, and vibrant aromas at its core. You will be transported to a Lebanese experience at Ghenwa’s Culinary Club, where the emphasis is on healthy eating with an array of fresh herbs, spices and rich ingredients. Prepare yourself for some outstanding Lebanese hospitality the moment you step through the door and discover the taste of Lebanon.

Ghenwa Steingcaszner, a Lebanese-born and -bred maître chef, runs the Ghenwa’s Culinary Club at the picturesque Lourensford Wine Estate, where she shares her passion and love for the culinary arts conserving food through organic and healthful eating.  Lebanese, Middle Eastern/Levantine, North African, and Mediterranean cuisines are her areas of expertise.  Lebanese cuisine is known for providing healthy diets typical of Mediterranean cuisines. Ghenwa will discuss the health benefits of the ingredients used while you will be taken on a journey and a sensory celebration through the various cuisines of Lebanon, as well as its historical traditions and geographic roots, during Ghenwa’s authentic cooking workshops.

Ghenwa’s cooking workshops are held in a comfortable and spacious setting equipped with a magnificent theatre kitchen to provide a welcoming culinary experience.  Upon arrival, an introduction and distribution of the recipes for the foods being showcased. Her charismatic personality exhumes through the educational and entertaining three-hour cooking demonstration.

A variety of dishes, ranging from simpler to more elaborate recipes which will include four mezze, a main dish and one dessert.  Every workshop is unique and will feature a different menu, which will entice you to return. A delicious lunch will be provided at the workshop’s conclusion so you can taste the dishes shown in the demonstration, together with a matching glass of wine (or non-alcoholic beverage) will be provided.

A feast for the eyes and the palate, these dishes prepared at Ghenwa’s Culinary Club, ranging from Tabouleh (seasoned parsley and chopped tomatoes salad), Baba Ghanoush (eggplant puree, also known as aubergine caviar), to Lamb Sambousek (pastry filled with mince and pine nuts), Rooz Maa Dajaj (chicken with rice), and Kinafeh (cheese dessert).  These are just a few of the mouth-watering dishes that can be expected.  The mainstay of Lebanese cuisine is food for the soul. It is authentic, flavoursome, and hearty.
