On Monday night, we scored an invite for a private menu tasting at Hideout River Cafe Hoi An, a hip, happening new spot on the river, before it opens to the public.

Of course, we gathered the MTF Hoi An crew, added a few friends and graciously accepted the invitation to spend the evening sipping on some delicious cocktails and nibbling on a sneak peek of the new menu at Hideout River Cafe Hoi An.

Opening Saturday, this new spot on the river is sure to become a fast favorite with local expats and tourists alike. While we suggest you pop by Hideout River Cafe Hoi An the next time you’re in the area, here’s a sneak peek of the dishes that tantalized our taste buds on Monday night.

Ready to Eat?

Spiced Haricot Bean Tacos

An absolute favorite of the table were the delicious Spiced Haricot Bean Tacos…so much so we even suggested the chef create a burrito, too!

Charred Sweetcorn and Roasted Butternut Tacos

Another hit were the Charred Sweetcorn and Roasted Butternut Squash Tacos…simply delicious!

Order Taking at Hideout River Cafe

After nibbling on tacos until our hearts content, the team came around and took our orders for their custom, homemade burrito bowls using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Custom Made Buddha Bowls

Offering a menu designed with vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike in mind, the burrito bowls allow you to choose from base ingredients like curried chickpeas, chili marinated tofu, chipotle chicken and the fish of the day to get you started.

After dinner, the owners of Hideout River Cafe Hoi An, a lovely, young Vietnamese couple from Da Nang, joined us. They wanted to hear our feedback on the menu tasting and this hip new spot on the river overall. Your typical bunch of know-it-all foodies, we, of course, had some feedback and we can’t wait to see some our small tweaks come to life.

Hideout River Cafe Hoi An

Offering outstanding Mexican cuisine with a commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients, Hideout River Cafe Hoi An is sure to become one of the city’s hotspots in no time! And, it’s definitely one of our new weekly favorites for lunch, dinner or some sensational sunset snacks.

The space is kitted out tons of comfy cushions, hammocks to enjoy the river views and soak up some sun and strong WiFi if you just can’t help yourself from staying connected. As the sun sets, the evenings comes alive with tons of fairy lights to give you that oh-so-special feeling of magic in the air!

Experience it for yourself when Hideout River Cafe opens its doors this Saturday for their official Launch Party. We’re told to expect free food, drink specials and live music by Colin Devaney. Simply put, there’s no good reason not to check it out!
