Irish Distillers, producer of the world’s most well-known and successful Irish whiskeys, has unveiled Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition in South Africa, a new extension to the innovative Caskmates range of whiskeys finished in beer-seasoned barrels.

Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition is a triple-distilled Irish whiskey finished in IPA-seasoned barrels from craft brewery, Eight Degrees Brewing, which is known for its adventurous approach to making beer using only natural ingredients. The result is a whiskey that features the signature smoothness of Jameson alongside hints of light hops, fresh citrus and floral notes. IPA AND TONIC
Ingredients
50 ml Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition
Ice
Tonic Water
A lemon Wedge
Method
Grab a glass
Fill it with ice.
Pour in 50ml Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition
Top up the glass with a good quality tonic water
Take a lemon Wedge and drop it into the glass

MR EARL
Ingredients
50ml Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition
35ml Earl Grey tea
10ml IPA syrup
15ml lemon juice
1 tsp marmalade
1 dash grapefruit bitters
1 dash orange bitters
Method
Combine 50ml Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition, 35ml Earl Grey tea, 10ml IPA syrup, 15ml lemon juice, 1 tsp marmalade, a dash of grapefruit bitters and a dash of orange bitters into a shaker.
Shake and double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Garnish with a wheel of dried grapefruit.
GINGER BREW
Ingredients
50ml Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition
3 chunks fresh ginger
30ml honey syrup
15ml lemon juice
15ml lime juice
70ml IPA beer
Method
Muddle 3 ginger chunks in the base of a boston shaker before adding 50ml Jameson Caskmates IPA Edition, 30ml honey syrup, 15ml lemon and 15ml lime juice.
Shake well before straining into a highball glass filled with cubed ice. Top up with 70ml Chieftain IPA and garnish with a twist of lemon peel and a sprig of fresh rosemary.
