Milan Fashion Week: The Favorites

I’ve covered New York, London, and now it’s time for Milan Fashion Week! I’ve gone on the hunt for some of my favorite looks from MFW. Instead of reviewing an entire collection, I’ll review separate looks that have really caught my eye. Firstly, I have to admit that Milan Fashion Week is so far my favorite without any shred of doubt. Let’s get started!

Outfit sets are a major staple in the spring and summer months, especially these past two years, so it only makes sense that this ensemble is appealing to the eye. The black detailing, white shirt, and handkerchief accessory really ties it altogether and calms that strong, pale green color – which is absolutely stunning, might I add. This look would be great to wear out for brunch or even a bonfire party. I gravitate towards clothes that make a statement in the most subtle way – this look does just that for me.

This one made for a hard choice because the entire collection (over 100 looks!) were all so mesmerizing and special. I admire this look for the softness and elegance it holds. The neutral light brown color is so lovely especially with the pleating. The designer took a ‘grotesque’ color and made it feminine with the pleating and corset detailing. Paired with the midi / bodycon dress are purple satin heels and a small clutch-like bag with a chain shoulder strap. Although the accessories aren’t awful, I think they could be better as it almost looks sloppy. Overall, I think it’s an exceptional look.

This final look is my absolute favorite. I am a sucker for a look that incorporates both a masculine and feminine essence. This longline orange blazer paired with a matching knit sweater, belt, leggings, and heels brings the substance we are all after this Spring 2018. It almost sounds like it’s too much when speaking about it, but it’s actually quite lovely and flattering. No better way to bring in the warmer seasons than with a bright fashion statement.

Milan Fashion Week debuted perhaps the most notable designers which might be the reason these shows were my favorite! I love all of the Fashion Weeks because with each show, you don’t necessarily know what you’re going to get – but, you look into each show with the same amount of anticipation and excitement. As Milan Fashion Week comes to an end, Paris Fashion Week begins. As French designer Christian Louboutin says: “If you do what you love, it is the best way to relax.”
