The next show, Episode 7, will be presented by Joanne Joseph and will loosely tie together the theme of “Histories” because it will speak to a range of authors about their personal histories, local historical fiction and international historical fiction.

The authors are Claudine Shiels on her book Walking Through Front Doors about her late disclosure allegations of sexual abuse by her uncles 40-years-ago, Scatterlings by Resoketswe Manenzhe which focuses on a marriage and family damaged by the Immorality Act and international author Kate Mosse on her historical fiction book City of Tears.Joanne Joseph adds ‘Literature allows history to be reincarnated in many forms. In this episode we examine its manifestations in the lives of two sisters haunted by their violent past, an author’s exploration of how the private becomes political through legislated racism in 1920s South Africa, and we turn back the clock to a story rooted in our country’s colonial history dating back centuries – each book allowing us a fascinating glimpse into the past.’

“Exclusive Books has always been known for its deep and wide range. Never has this been truer with both a strong bricks-and- mortar presence and now better- than-ever online store – www.exclusivebooks.co za  Whatever is not on the shelves, can be ordered and delivered in some cases in 48 hours. This episode of Cover to Cover, focused on histories, delves into but one of our many genres. We hope it tempts regular book readers to dip into this subject if they are not regular history- buffs, and new book readers to sample any book in any section at Exclusive Books. Spoilt for choice, I’d say!” Batya Bricker, General Manager, Exclusive Books
