The Chocolate Café

This Easter, Sandton City is bringing an irresistible experience to shoppers with the launch of its Chocolate Café. The one-of-a-kind chocolate shop will run from 10 to 21 April in the Checkers court. Featuring a selection of beloved confectionery brands, including Beacon, Cadbury, Ferrero Rocher, Kinder, Lindt, Mister Sweets, Sally Williams and Sweetie Pie, the pop-up store promises a tempting array of sweet treats for chocolate lovers of all ages.

Adding to the excitement, the centre is teaming up with 947 for a chocolate-inspired giveaway. Listeners will be invited to submit their best chocolate recipes using products available at the Chocolate Shop. Two winners, selected by Mantsoe, will each receive a R 5 000 Sandton City gift card and a chocolate hamper. Entries will be open from 7 to 12 April, with winners announced over the weekend of 12 and 13 April.

The Scoop Shop

This Easter, Eastgate shopping centre in Johannesburg is inviting families to indulge in a delightful experience at The Scoop Shop, a celebratory activation in the centre’s Strelitzia Court from Tuesday 15 to Monday 21 April. Open daily from 10am to 6pm, the uniquely themed space will offer a mix of sweet treats and interactive fun for all ages.

Bringing Easter magic to life, The Scoop Shop will serve up delicious soft serve ice creams, including exclusive bunny-themed toppings in a playful and immersive setting. The activation will also feature family-friendly activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, a reading corner with Exclusive Books, and Build-a-Bunny experiences with Toy Kingdom and Build-a-Bear.

Price: The experience costs R50 per person, which includes one soft serve ice cream with three toppings as well as access to all of the other exciting activities, with the exception of the Build-a-Bunny experience which comes at additional cost, depending on the plush selected.

Magical Rainbow Easter Playground & Easter Treasure Hunt

From Friday 18 to Monday 21 April, little ones can immerse themselves in the Magical Rainbow Easter Playground with Clamber Club on the Melrose Arch Piazza. Designed for children aged 1-10, this play paradise features obstacle courses, soft play areas, ball ponds, face painting, egg-and-spoon races, play dough, a colouring corner, and the chance to meet Jog the Frog.

Spot prizes will be up for grabs throughout the Easter weekend, adding to the excitement

On Easter Sunday, 20 April, from 12pm to 4pm, children can take part in the Magical Rainbow Easter Egg Hunt in association with 947in the Retail Galleria. This area in Melrose Arch features a glass canopy to ensure that, come rain or shine, the bunny fun will continue. With a cast of enchanting characters, including pixies, Betty the Butterfly, bunny helpers, magical fairies, and a talking caterpillar, this is an egg hunt like no other!

Price: Easter playground: Entry is R70 per hour or R140 per child for unlimited play on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Special Easter Sunday rates apply at R50 per hour or R100 for unlimited play.

Menlyn Easter Treasure Hunt

Menlyn Park in Pretoria is inviting little ones to take part in a joyful Easter Egg Hunt running from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 April on the ground floor of the mall, where six large themed pods will serve as the key pitstops along the treasure trail. Kids can start their adventure at any pod by collecting a card that shows the treasure hunt route. As they visit each pod, they’ll receive a sticker and a small surprise such as chocolate eggs, bunny ears, Easter ornaments or even perhaps a mini toy. The hunt ends at the centre’s Aviary Court, where participants can pose with a giant paper mâché bunny and their completed card.

Parents who prefer to stay behind the scenes can wear one of the bunny masks provided to add to the fun. By posting photos or videos and tagging Menlyn on social media, families will be entered into a draw to win a R10 000 Toy Kingdom Toy Dash. Additional entertainment will also be on offer in the Starbucks, Lego and Aviary Courts, where young visitors can enjoy Easter themed activities in a lively and secure environment.
