Dr Malinga and DJ Cleo are playing for worthy causes in back-to-back episodes
Due to last week’s live sport on SABC1, the scheduled Deal or No Deal Celebrity episodedid not make the airwaves. However, there is some fantastic news for the popular game show’s millions of fans. Two big-name mover-and-shaker musicians, Dr Malinga and DJ Cleo, will battle the banker in a back-to-back double bill on Saturday, 12 October. Rumour also has it that one of these household names will boost the bank balance of a charity organisation with a six-figure stash of cash.
Dr Malinga will bring his trademark high energy and over-the-top moves to Deal or No Deal Celebrity at 18:00, while DJ Cleo will be in the house at 19:00.
The charity chosen by Dr Malinga is Tshwaraganang Community Development, an NGO in Marikana that cares for orphans and neglected children.
The music icon, blessed with his sixth kid – a baby girl called Talent – a few weeks before the episode was recorded, has a soft spot for children without caring parents. That’s why the super busy Dr Malinga, a massive fan of Deal or No Deal Celebrity, juggled his diary to shine the spotlight on this NGO and raise as much money as possible to ease their plight.
“I love Deal or No Deal because it is the people’s programme, showing love for the children and people in need. I also grew up in a poor community and know how dire some circumstances are,” Dr Malinga explained.
DJ Cleo will be playing for Father a Nation (FAN). This non-profit company addresses gender-based violence, crime and fatherlessness by running programmes at schools and colleges in different communities countrywide. Their mission is to inspire and equip the next generation of men to be nation-builders, caring fathers, role models, and activists against any form of abuse.
DJ Cleo, a dad himself, will also share his insights about responsible fatherhood.
