About the Johannesburg Queer Chorus

Founded in early 2020, the JQC has grown into a dynamic choir representing the LGBTQIA+ community and allies across greater Johannesburg. Rooted in purpose and powered by artistry, the chorus fosters an empowering environment where all voices – regardless of gender identity or orientation – can sing and shine.

Under the baton of musical director Faye Prinsloo the JQC has become a force of choral excellence, community connection and celebration.

Joy to Joburg embraces the season with sparkle, spirit and an invitation to reflect what the chorus holds dear – diversity, harmony and belonging.
