Ticket sales for next instalment of beloved children’s theatre production now open

The award-winning Momo’s Magical Adventure will make its return to Sandton City this December, showcasing a captivating new storyline. Running from 5 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, the show production is being staged in collaboration with Standard Bank Private, whose sponsorships promote arts and culture within the communities it serves. Following its successful premiere last year and recognition with an ICSC Global Maxi Award and a Naledi Theatre Award, this beloved family production is poised to engage audiences once more.

This year, Momo embarks on a heart-warming journey, from stargazing under the glistening highveld night sky to plunging into the depths of the luminous sea, before flying to space for a totally surreal cosmic odyssey. Momo the lone adventurer and her beloved sidekick, Mack the Meerkat, will be going on a vibrant and exciting new adventure. In the process, they will be introduced to exciting new characters including mysteriously magical deep-sea creatures, Bertie-Stargazer the celestial and majestic Unicorn and Polly the Northern Star who has fallen from the twinkling night sky. The delightful duo will explore some marvellous new spaces and make some wonderful new friends.

Momo’s latest adventure will be brought to life though immersive physical performance, dance, music and a visual feast of projections and lighting design. Award winning performer, Tebogo Molepo will once again star as Momo alongside a dynamic new cast. Producer, Lyall Ramsden is leading a visionary team with the creative talents of director and theatre-maker Kirsten Harris, choreographer Owen Lonzar, musical composer James Bassingthwaighte, costume and puppet designer Trudie Ströh, set designer Nadine Minnaar, production designer Louis Minnaar and lighting designer Vincent van Niekerk.

The return of Momo’s Magical Adventure will once again see the show staged in a uniquely designed theatrical tent in the centre court outside Checkers. There will be four shows per day from Tuesday to Sunday, at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. There will be no performances on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Tickets cost R 60 each, and while tickets will be available at the centre, audiences are strongly encouraged to prebook online because shows tend to sell out quickly. Ticket sales are now open at www.sandtoncity.com.
