Blaauwklippen’s new Farm Shop & Deli is all about local, offering a country-style destination in the heart of Stellenbosch that’s easily accessible for locals and stocks the best of locally grown and produced deli fare.
The old farm stables on Stellenbosch’s oldest wine farm were carefully converted over the past three months to house the Farm Shop & Deli, incorporating a casual bistro and the new aptly-named Panorama Terrace that overlooks the sprawling picnic lawn with views across the farm to the mountains beyond.
Blaauwklippen launched the new Farm Shop & Deli to friends of the farm earlier this week (14 October).
The 338-year-old Stellenbosch estate has been on a journey of transformation over the past three years, and the newest addition to their hospitality portfolio carries forward the farm’s spirit of innovation and aim to be the go-to destination for locals and visitors alike.
“The past eight months have been challenging for everyone in the wine and hospitality industry. All of us have had to focus our attention on our immediate surrounds and support networks, and make better use of what we already have. The Farm Shop & Deli was purposefully designed with locals in mind – a country-style pitstop to enjoy our beautiful farm location in the very heart of Stellenbosch,” says Ben-Carl Havemann, General Manager of Blaauwklippen Wine Estate.
The Farm Shop & Deli hosts various food stations with a selection of the best locally produced deli products and handmade goods. Visitors can treat themselves to a selection of freshly baked pies and sweet treats from M-Patisserie, a charcuterie section with a variety of meats and cheeses, and stylish homeware and lifestyle accessories from Fleur le Cordeur.
The bistro-style restaurant serves breakfast and a selection of hot-pressed sandwiches, salads and mezze platters at attractive prices.
The Farm Shop & Deli is open from Tuesdays to Fridays from 8am to 6pm and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
