The Cradle Boutique Hotel – the only hotel in the world situated on an active paleoanthropological site – is the recipient of a coveted 2022 Travellers’ Choice Award.
Every year Tripadvisor recognises businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to hospitality excellence with a Travellers’ Choice Award which is voted for by hotel guests from around the globe. This means that the Cradle Boutique Hotel is in the top 10 percent of hotels worldwide.
Says the hotel’s CEO Kobus Botha: “This award is a great achievement since the direct rating system comes from paying guests. It means we are doing things right and are proud of General Manager Wayne Fisher and the entire Cradle Hotel team.”
Fisher added: “This award shows that we are on the right track. Service excellence is our motto; we really go great lengths to ensure that our guest experience is memorable. To this end, there is dedication and commitment from the entire service team. That, combined with the magnificent location of our hotel, guarantees a winning formula.”
Just 45kms from the country’s financial hub in Sandton, The Cradle Boutique Hotel is housed within a 9 000 hectare, privately owned reserve that is located inside the greater Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site.
The hotel is also home to the Malapa Museum (built in partnership with paleoanthropologist Professor Lee Berger’s Foundation, National Geographic and the Malapa Motsetse Foundation) that houses fossils, found on the property, which tell the story of the origins of man.
It also boasts a 220-seater restaurant with unparalleled views of a breath-taking Highveld landscape which endorses a cradle (farm) to table philosophy.
The hotel adheres to strict green codes designed to guarantee best conservation practice. Awards won for sustainability include a World Luxury Hotel Award and an Africa, Luxury Eco/Green Hotel Award.
All profits from the Cradle Boutique Hotel are poured back into conservation, education and the protection of the Malapa Motsetse Foundation.
