London’s Michelin-starred KOL will celebrate its fifth anniversary with an extraordinary one-night-only party next month. On Sunday, October 26th, Chef Patron Santiago Lastra will bring together four of the world’s most celebrated chefs to create individual interpretations of Mexico’s traditional dish, the taco.

Together with Santiago, the four inspirational guests will present an exclusive menu marrying their personal culinary philosophy with the flavours and vibrancy of Mexican food culture for an unforgettable evening. The stellar lineup will be :

  • Thomas Frebel (Partner and Creative Director at Noma Projects, Copenhagen)
  • Rodolfo Guzmán (Chef-Owner, Boragó, Santiago, No.23 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants)
  • Nicolai Nørregaard (Chef-Owner, Kadeau, Copenhagen, No. 41 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, 2 Michelin Stars, Michelin Green Star)
  • Ana Roš (Chef-Owner, Hiša Franko, Slovenia, voted World’s Best Female Chef by World’s 50 Best Restaurants; No.69 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, 3 Michelin Stars, Michelin Green Star)

KOL’s main dining room will be transformed for the celebration, with tables and chairs cleared to allow guests to explore five stations, each featuring a daring take on the event’s focal dish. Santiago Lastra will present his taco, embodying five years of KOL, celebrating authentic Mexican flavours developed from a wide variety of often-uncharted British ingredients.

Following the main event, the party will continue to the Mezcaleria – the restaurant’s stylish, earth-hued ode to Mexico’s beloved mezcal bars. Guests can enjoy KOL’s signature cocktails and the bespoke selection of tequilas and mezcals, accompanied by antojitos, Mexican street food snacks.

Santiago comments, “KOL represents a connection to the diversity, ancient history, and varied tapestry of Mexican food culture, crafted with British produce. The experience has continually evolved over the past five years, due to the exciting discoveries made along the way through our extensive research. The ever-changing nature of KOL is a testament to the abundance of British produce and its versatility. I am especially excited to celebrate this anniversary with four like-minded friends, who have been a great support and constant inspiration throughout our journey”.

Since opening in 2020, KOL has established itself as one of London’s most innovative dining destinations and is currently ranked in the World’s 50 Best Restaurants. Santiago’s approach of creating authentic Mexican flavours using a variety of seasonal and undiscovered British ingredients has captivated both critics and diners, establishing a new paradigm for Mexican cuisine.

Tickets are priced at GBP 110 per person, including a welcome drink and five dishes. They will be available for purchase exclusively via the KOL newsletter from Sunday 5th October at 4PM.
