This November, Inverroche invites Joburg’s curious culture seekers to experience something entirely new at The House of Amber, The Residence of Refined Taste.
Opening on 6 November 2025, this six-week pop-up will take place at the premium destination of Oxford Parks, offering a fresh expression of conscious luxury, where artistry and alchemy collide.
Brought to life by Africa’s first amber-coloured luxury gin, The House of Amber provides a platform for Inverroche’s superior craftsmanship, taste and quality, all while playing in culture and giving Joburgers a progressive experience that melds mindful luxury with the authentic and extraordinary.
Open Thursday to Sunday until 14 December, The House of Amber introduces a tasty highlight to the local summer season, offering a space designed for connection and celebration; where opulence takes its cues from nature and where style, taste and melody are elevated.
“From golden-hour gatherings to rhythmic weekends, The House of Amber tells Inverroche’s story in a vibrant new way,” states Nomzamo Mbatha, Inverroche’s Cultural Curator, who will open the doors on 6 November. “It truly is The Residence of Refined Taste and brings a new energy to Joburg. I can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”
Every evening offers something distinct, from intimate tastings to live performances, to curated collaborations and unforgettable moments shared with friends. Each week unfolds through a careful mix of experiences, moving from serene to high-energy, reflecting the city’s rhythm and the nature of Inverroche Amber, Africa’s pioneering luxury gin.
A calendar of intentional encounters
Each evening at The House of Amber carries its own tone, from quiet sophistication to vibrant social energy, while sunset hour offers something spectacular:
- Acoustic Thursdays: Where new collaborations in music, fashion, food, and performance art combine tempo with taste in one-of-a-kind experiences.
- Friends of Fridays: Exclusive evenings for industry insiders, artists, and cultural tastemakers.
- Sounding Saturdays: High-energy nights with DJs and live acts setting the pace for the weekend.
- Sensation Sundays: Slower, sensory moments celebrating food, flavour, and artistry.
An ode to the art of Inverroche
Every corner of The House of Amber has been intentionally curated to tell a story, through spatial design, authentic experiences and sensorial journeys. The shape of the pop-up has been crafted in the outline of Inverroche’s brand home, where founder, Lorna Scott, lived and began crafting this beautiful, a-kind-like-no-other, hand-distilled gin.
Striking a balance between South African creativity, mindful design, and rare indulgence, guests are invited to move through spaces such as:
- The Amber Gable, a sculptural façade inspired by the brand home distillery, echoing the Cape Dutch architecture at the heart of Inverroche.
- Amber Alchemy, an immersive bar experience capturing the magic of distillation, where a foraging wall transcends guests into Inverroche’s world of water, rock and the Stilbaai fynbos.
- The Amber Pour-Over, a seamless indoor-outdoor bar where Amber delights like gin-infused macarons and ice creams serve mindful indulgence with a twist.
- The Amber Patio, an open-air lounge with relaxed seating and live, soulful entertainment. An effortless space to linger and connect, celebrating Amber Hour.
